ABOUT

MARGARETTEN ARCHITECTURAL

Margaretten Architectural, a small boutique design firm in Santa Rosa Beach FL, creates living and working experiences that cater to the unique lifestyles and business goals of each of our clientele.  Architecture is personal. How we experience our personal environment – our work zone, our living spaces, our public domain - enlightens our happiness and encourages our creativity.

This “Experience Driven” philosophy defines our approach to problem solving.

Residential projects infuse individual personality into our experiential style, tailoring a result that turns a House, a machine for living, into a home-- THE EXPERIENCE OF LIVING. Our retail and commercial projects, when merged with cost effective business decisions, create a distinctive architecture that inspires customer and client interaction.

The process of creating living experiences out of projects is transformative – Margaretten Architectural is the conduit for that exciting journey.

MA is a local 30A firm with national breadth.  Our “local” projects are spread throughout the beach communities of the Florida Panhandle from Destin and Santa Rosa Beach, to Panama City and Mexico Beach, while our national retail clients have touched all 50 states.

Visit our projects on Scenic Highway 30A, South Walton, Santa Rosa Beach, Seagrove, Panama City Beach, Mexico Beach, and in the local communities of Driftwood Estates, Mac Bayou, BellaMar, Gulf Place, Draper Lake, Villages of Blue Mountain Beach, The Preserve at Grayton, Point Washington, Watercolor, Seaside, Seagrove Beach, Seacrest Beach, Inlet Beach and Carillon Beach.

Meet the Team

JEFF MARGARETTEN, AIA

As a proud resident of scenic highway 30A in South Walton county, FL since 2001, Jeff Margaretten has built a small, diverse architectural practice whose main focus has always been client driven architecture. After receiving his Architecture degree from Tulane University in 1989, his career began on Miami Beach, working on All-Inclusive Caribbean Resorts, moving on to Fort Lauderdale to work on both custom residential and school board projects until the early 90’s. In 1994, while in Atlanta, he became an Automobile Dealership Design Consultant to Ford and BMW, bringing prototype, experience driven Architecture to automotive dealers across the US and Canada.

Jeff moved to Destin in 1999 and built his first home on the beautiful 30A in 2001. “I never thought I’d live in a town this small,” Jeff recalled, “but 30A is simply magical. The architecture, the scenery, the people – all of it is inspiring”. Wanting to travel less – and coach little league more - the “local” doors to Margaretten Architectural opened in 2003 as an avenue to bring user friendly design strategies into the residential experience.

Jeff’s wonderfully blended family now includes his beautiful wife Lisa, along with 5 amazing young adults, and two grandchildren. Other than being a singer songwriter for the past 35 years, for a real inside look at Jeff’s alter-ego, you should make it a point to attend one of his famous 30A Sushi Parties.
